Trail briefing:

Downhill: Mt Buller has 5 downhill style trails each with its own bag of tricks to keep you on your toes. A couple of favorites are:

  • International (2kms): The most advanced trail available at Mt Buller, extremely technical, rock gardens, a road gap, jumps, berms to 75 degrees, drop offs to 2 metres, Bridges 250mm wide.
  • Abom (approx. 3.5kms): Starts with a beginners section with switchbacks then into steep technical single trail, rock gardens, berms, and fast sweeping corners.

Cross country: Mt Buller is a XC riders heaven with a series of linking trails allowing you to ride for a full day without travelling on the same section of trail. Amongst the plethora of XC trails our favorites are:

  • Australian Alpine Epic (40kms): Australia’s first ever IMBA accredited Epic trail which takes you on an amazing journey from Mt Buller Village to Mirimbah via Corn Hill, Mt Stirling, Razorback and finally descending down to the bottom of the valley. The climbs are tough, the descents are mind blowing and the scenery, incredible. Hands down the most rewarding ride you can do at Mt Buller.
  • Copperhead (3kms): Australia’s first “Flow down trail”, fast, single trail, high berms, switch backs, rock armoring, and bridge crossing.
  • Stonefly (10kms): Single trail, 10km loop up and down Mt Stirling, 6kms of uphill with tight technical switchback sections, 4kms fast and flowing descent, berms, 20 mesh bridge crossings.
  • Klingsporn Bridal Trail (8.65kms): One of the longest vertical decent trails in Australia. 1000m vertical decent from top to bottom. Technical sections, fast, steep, narrow single trail, small rock drops and ledges all combined to make an amazing trail.
