OMEO

What are Shuttles?

Quite simply:  You ride down the mountain, then we pick you and your bike up in a bus and take you back to the top.  Repeat this as many times as you like.  The drive to the top at Omeo takes 18-20 minutes.

Shuttle hours:

Fridays from 24 April 2026 12pm – 5pm 

Every Saturday & Sunday; plus Public Holidays: from 10am to 4pm

How often and how many buses are running?

We have multiple buses running non-stop, which allows you to choose your own adventure and ride wherever and whenever you like. It’s not uncommon for people to take breaks throughout the day and simply jump back on the uplift shuttles when they feel like it.

Where are the pick up locations?

From our Dead Sailor shop located at 176 Day Avenue, Omeo.    It is only 180m from the pump trail and end of the trails.

Should I pre-book?

We do recommend booking in advance for two reasons: it’s $10 cheaper than the walk-in on-the-day price; and it guarantees you a spot for the day.

What are the days of operation?

Every Friday to Sunday;

Plus daily 27 Dec – 31 Jan;

And daily on school holidays and Public Holidays.

Can I book online, on the day?

No.  Sorry.   You can purchase shuttle tickets on the day from our House of Gnar – 176 Day Avenue, Omeo.

Do kids bikes fit on your trailers?

Yes

Do e-bikes fit on your trailers?

Yes.

Can I just get one uplift?

Yes.  The price is $30.  No pre-booking.  Grab your pass from our House of Gnar – 176 Day Avenue, Omeo.

What is the best bike for Omeo?

Trail / Enduro bike for the Gravity trails.

XC bike for trails along the river and Oriental Claims area.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Register and receive your shuttle ticket from our House of Gnar – 176 Day Avenue, Omeo – before you jump on the shuttle vehicles.

Do I have to use the shuttle?

Shuttles are not compulsory to enjoy the bike park. You can pedal up – it’s free. Yes there is no charge to enter and ride the bike park. As a guide it would take an average rider 1.3 hours on an e-bike to pedal from town to the top of Sam Hill; analog bikes take much longer.   It takes our vehicles approximately 18-20 minutes to cover this entire distance.

At Falls Creek the trail diversity means we have two pick up locations. Central village at our Bike Cafe on Bogong High Plains Road; and also down at Howmans Gap which is 6km below the resort village on Bogong High Plains Road.

What about my DH rig?

Current trails are not optimised for DH bikes.  However once the new UCI DH trail is open – it’s time for full send.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Register and receive your shuttle ticket from our Village Bike Cafe (located in the second car park on your left as you drive into the resort from Mt Beauty) before you can jump on the shuttle vehicles.

As a guide it would take an average rider 40-50 minutes to pedal from Howmans Gap to central village; and a further 45-60 minutes to pedal from there to the summit. It takes our vehicles approximately 20 minutes to cover this entire distance.
